INTRODUCTION

Mushroom Research Centre was a coming together of researchers from Faculty of Science and Medicine in 2005 to spearhead quality  research,  knowledge dissemination, human resource training, product and process development in consonance with the nation’s needs for a  vibrant mushroom industry and  to exploit Malaysia’s  mushroom biodiversity for food, feed, fuel and chemicals.

Our activities :

• Acquisition of macrofungal diversity of Malaysia – an unexploited gene pool for biotechnological applications; 
• Training of human resource and dissemination of knowledge; 
• Research in mushroom biology and biotechnology;
• Promotional activities - taking the findings to industry and  society  in collaboration with Department of Agriculture (DOA) and Malaysian Mushroom Research Association.
